| Wow my life is so exciting. I honestly don't know why I write
here since I probably have 2 readers and they don't even care. So
to the two of you out there, cheers. I went into class with my
dad today to get in some of my 25 hours of observation. Special
ed. is way more fun to do observation in than a regular class.
It's all very active and hands on. The kids had PE and I got to
go in a big jumper with all of them. They then decided that it
would be fun to knock me over and jump on me so we'll see if I bruise
or not. My other big excitement was last Sunday when my Eagles
finally made it to the Super Bowl. I've followed the team for 13
years and the NFC title game Sunday was the happiest football game of
my life (that is until they win it all). Of course that great
weekend will be followed by the most sucktastic holiday of the year,
Valentine's Day. You single people must all know the
feeling. All of the greeting card people, florists, candy makers
and couples get together to remind us exactly what it is we are missing
out on. Until I get a girlfriend or they institute "National Kick
Matt in the Nuts Day" I will continue to view this as the lowest of
holidays. The elemetary school version of it wasn't all that bad
though, what with all the girls giving you a Valentine. So if all
of you in cyberspace want to hit on me or whatever and boost my ego go
for it. On a totally different tangent, how did "Garden
State" end up with no Oscar Nominations? It is only one of the
greatest movies ever and seems to be the seminal movie for
twenty-somethings of this generation. If nothing else they could
give Zach Braff his due with a nomination for Original
Screenplay. On another completely different topic the Lakers are
completely frustrating. They go from one game showing up and
giving 110% to barely caring. I figured that attitude was out the
door with Shaq, but I guess not. Well now that I've gone all over
the map I'll stop ranting now and apologize to whoever took the two
minutes out of their life to read this. This is my place to vent
and whatnot so if you come expecting anything profound you're both out
of luck and obviously don't know me.
P.S. I think I'm seeing Fallout Boy in March. Who's with me? (in a Braveheart-esque cry)

| So I'm on a Xanga roll now, a whole two days in a row. I got my
fingerprinting done today, so that's one hurdle out of the way.
The other interesting thing is that the urging of Megan and some other
people I started a myspace, this user name or Matt McDonough if you
aren't already a friend on there. The weird thing is that I
didn't even put that I had an interest in dating or anything and I've
been overwhelmed by messages and friend requests by random girls.
I don' t know if this is just normal for the site but I've been getting
about 2-3 every half hour. Now I know that this could be seen as
an ego boost, but a large portion of them are under 18. I just
wonder what kind of 24 year olds respond to them, cause it just creeps
me out. So I've been keeping my friends list down to people I
know, are from somewhere I went to school or worked, or band
sites. I never expected this much interest in me from people I
don't know because this has never happened here at Xanga. I guess
if you read this and use Myspace let me know if this is normal.
So that has been the big exciting stuff in my life today, and that
makes me kinda sad.

| I'm in kind of a weird position right now with school. I'm in my
program, but technically not in it. I did all the big stuff to
get in, but now I have to get fingerprinted and some other little
things to get everything straightened out. They make you jump
through so many hoops for the teaching program I feel like I should
join the circus. As an added bonus the test scores you send the
school aren't official and you have to show the scores that they send
you. So like a dork I threw away my score report for the CSET on
accident, and kept the registration info I had no use for, so now I
have to pay $15 to get a new one mailed to me. Also I got around
to buying my books today and the fingerprinting costs $78, so I feel
like the money is just flying out of my bank account. Anyway that
is the fun going on in my life right now. As for those of you who
read my post yesterday that is no longer there, I'm better than I was
and I'll leave it at that.

| Okay so Green Day puts on the most AMAZING show ever. Sugarcult
and New Found Glory both had some energy, but the crowd wasn't all
there or really into it. I sang along with most of NFG, but it
isn't the same when the crowd is dead. Then Green Day hit the
stage and the place went nuts. I spent most of the next two hours
screaming and jumping around. I still have a slight buzzing in my
ears and can't really talk, but it was totally worth it. It was
cool cause they played about half of the new album and played the songs
from it I really like. The other part of the show is all of their
biggest songs and they close with "Good Riddance" which seemed
appropriate. I only wish I had splurged and paid more for General
Admission floor seats. I'm hoping to get into the pit at
Saturdays concert since that's way more energetic than in the
seats. No matter where I sat though the band was
so high energy that you couldn't help but get into it. Well I
better go now. But if you ever have the opportunity to go see
Green Day live take it. | | |
| So the Lakers won and Half-Life 2 kicks complete ass which adds up to a good night. Other than that no great excitement here. Again I've put off doing school work until the day that it's due. If possible I think that I'm less motivated to get work done in grad school than I was for the last four years. I also got good news that Chris will likely be coming out for a week in December. Now I just have to see if we're actually going to finally see Les Miserables. After five years of it never working out to see it here or in Texas it is finally here at the same time that we are. Apparently in watching Colin Farrell on the Tonight Show what is keeping women for swooning over me is my lack of foul language around them. He's been bleeped about fifteen times already, but no matter what he says all the women go "Awwww." So either that's the problem or it's just that I'm not Colin Farrell. I guess I'll just have to try the swearing and see if it works. On that note I'll let my one or two readers go now. | | |
